The recent takeover of the Deen formula by Albert Heijn, DekaMarkt and Vomar is causing quite a stir in the supermarket world.
It is no small matter.
A regional formula with 80 stores that has been highly valued by consumers for years is disappearing from the Dutch supermarket landscape.
Especially in a number of market areas in North Holland, where Deen has built up a strong market position, a landslide in competitive relationships is taking place.
